George participated in Givecamp as a volunteer in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020; and served as a member of the project management committee in 2020.

GiveCamp Memphis is a weekend-long event where professionals from designers, developers and database administrators to marketers and web strategists donate their time to provide solutions for nonprofit organizations.

George volunteered as a mentor to a Junior Computer Science Major at Christian Brothers University.

The Peer Mentoring Program is designed as an additional resource for students who want to build a strong relationship with their peers while learning new skills and gaining experience that will lead to success academically and socially.

In 2017, George volunteered to speak to Code 1.0 students about his experience as a software developer and assisted them with assignments. He returned in 2019 as a student to complete the course himself.

Code 1.0 is an introduction to programming, based on Harvard’s CS50 curriculum, that is approachable for those who have no previous programming experience while still posing a challenge for those who do.
